Group Bus Permit for Lynn Canyon Park

The District of North Vancouver limits groups in our busiest tourist areas, to minimize congestion and keep people and our parks safe.

All buses entering the main parking lot at Lynn Canyon Park are required to purchase a Group Bus Permit (GBP) before they enter the Park. Buses without a GBP found within the Park or stopped in the neighbouring streets before the main parking lot are subject to fines of $500 or more per infraction in accordance with the Street and Traffic Bylaw, No. 7125 and the Park Regulation Bylaw, No. 8310.

Due to capacity limitations within the Park, the number of GBPs issued per day is limited to a maximum of 3 buses per 4-hour block of time. GBPs must be approved and paid for in advance, subject to availability.

If you book a program with the Ecology Centre, you will receive a complimentary GBP and do not need to fill out the form below.

If you are a school located in North Vancouver, the GBP Fee will be waived, but you must still submit the application form.

2026 Fees for 4-hour blocks are:

  • $170.00 (+5% GST) for buses with 24 seats or less
  • $350.00 (+5% GST) for buses with 25 or seats or more

How to get your Group Bus Permit

Cancellation and Amendment of Group Bus Permits

GBPs are non-transferable.

The District may terminate a GBP if, at the District’s sole discretion, the Permit Area is deemed unsafe, unsuitable, or unavailable due to exceptional circumstances such as extreme weather events, wildfire risk, hazardous trail conditions, or emergency incidents resulting in an official closure of the Park. This clause does not apply to general inclement weather such as rain. Upon termination of the GBP in accordance with this section, the District will offer the Licensee the choice of either:

  1. A full refund of the Fee, with no administrative fee; or
  2. The option to re-book for a future date within the same calendar year at no additional charge, subject to availability.

In no event will any other or additional damages or compensation be payable to the Licensee.

A GBP holder may cancel or amend their GBP by providing written notice to the District ([email protected]), subject to the following conditions:

Cancellation:
  1. If notice is received more than 14 full days prior to the Tour Date, the Licensee may either:
    1. Receive a full refund of the full Fee, less a $25.00 administrative fee; or
    2. Rebook for a future date within the same calendar year at no additional charge, subject to availability.
  2. If notice is received between 14 full days and 72 hours prior to the Arrival Time on the Tour Date, no refund will be issued; however, the Licensee may rebook for a future date within the same calendar year at no additional charge, subject to availability.
  3. If notice is received less than 72 hours prior to the Arrival Time on the Tour Date, or in the event of a no-show, the Licensee will forfeit the entire Fee and no refund, and no rebooking will be permitted.
Amendment:

Only one (1) amendment or rebooking of the Tour Date or Arrival Time may be made free of charge, subject to availability and the cancellation terms listed above. Additional amendments or rebookings are subject to a $25.00 administrative fee.
