Treetop Tales

Join us for nature stories at the Ecology Centre on Fridays from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. Suitable for ages 2 and up, with an adult. No registration required. By donation.

Forest Explorers

Discover the secrets of the temperate rainforest, read stories, go on a forest walk and make a craft. All children attending must be between the ages of 2 to 5, except for babies in a carrier. These adult participation programs run both inside and outside, so dress for the weather!

$16 per child, includes 1 adult. Full refunds are available up until 2 weeks before each program. Non-transferable.

River Secrets

Tuesday, June 9 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am

What’s alive in a river? Let’s think about mayflies, salmon fry, and slimy algae, and see how rivers are important to forest life.

Creatures of the Night – FULL

Make a mask and turn yourself into a nighttime animal. Discover how raccoons, bats, and owls navigate and find food in the dark.

Pollinator Party! – FULL

Tuesday, June 23 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am

What is a pollinator, and how do they help things to grow? Make party hats, and celebrate our favourite pollinating insects and animals!

Discovery Days

Join us on a weekend family adventure in the forest! Discovery Days programs are for families with children ages 3-8. You’ll enjoy a forest walk, story, and hands-on activities as you learn about plants and animals.

Colour Changing

Some animals can change their colours… Is it to hide, or to show off? Learn how some local animals change colour, and how they compare to camouflage superstars like octopuses or chameleons!

From bobcats to otters, lizards and even a seal, you never know what animals you will see in Lynn Canyon! Come along to hear stories and see evidence of creatures rarely spotted. Then head out into the park to see what you might find.
