Visit the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre during Wildlife Weeks to learn about the rich biodiversity of our planet from the experts who care for it. Get inspired, get educated, get involved!

Ocean Design Lab by Sea Smart

Monday, March 17 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

The ocean needs your help! Test your problem solving skills during this hands-on workshop led by Sea Smart. Your mission: redesign fishing nets to reduce harm to marine life. Work as a family to crack the puzzle, using creativity and teamwork whilst building your own miniature model of the ocean floor.

Ages 8+. $15 per family (maximum of 4 people). Please consider adding an additional donation to help us cover the cost of this program.

Flying Under the Radar: Exploring BC Bats

Wednesday, March 19 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Often misunderstood, bats are an incredible mammal, essential to our ecosystems! Uncover the mysteries of bats with researchers Lena Adamson and Tabitha Maria Vinu. The majority of this program will take place inside, with a short portion outside to look for bat roosting habitat.

Treetop Tales: Forest Magic

Friday, March 21 from 11 am to 11:30 am

From fairies to elves to gnomes, the forest is full of magic! Come hear tales about the wonders of the forest. By donation. Suitable for ages 2+ with an adult.

Drop-in, no registration required.

Raptor Rescue with OWL Rehab

Tuesday, March 25 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Meet live raptors with OWL Rehab and learn about the important work they do rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing injured and orphaned raptors.

Ages 5+. $15 per person (+GST for ages 15+).

Ferns, Fungi and Forest Fascination

Friday, March 28 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm

Step into the enchanting world of Lynn Canyon Park on a family-friendly guided walk. Discover the often-overlooked marvels of the forest, from mosses and lichens to tiny creatures like springtails. After exploring the trails, join us inside the Ecology Centre for an up-close examination of our forest finds.

This program includes a moderate hike with stairs and is suitable for ages 5+ with an adult. By donation: we rely on your donations to keep running our low cost programs!
