How to Get to Lynn Canyon Park

Lynn Canyon Park is located in the Lynn Valley area of North Vancouver. It is the largest park in the District of North Vancouver’s park system.

Transit

The #228 Lynn Valley bus, which runs from Lonsdale Quay, stops near Lynn Canyon Park. Get off at Lynn Valley Road and Peters Road, and walk 15 minutes down Peters Road to the park.

The #227 community shuttle operates daily between Lynn Valley Centre and Phibbs Exchange via Lynn Canyon Park. The #227 community shuttle stops at the corner of Peters Road and Duval Road, a 5 minute walk from the park.

Visit translink.ca to plan your ride.

Driving

Parking can be limited on weekends and holidays. Please take public transit, walk or bike when possible.

To get to Lynn Canyon Park, take Highway 1 to the Lynn Valley Road (#19) exit. If you are approaching from the west, stay right as you go off the exit, and you will go onto Lynn Valley Road. If you are approaching from the east, take the Lynn Valley road exit and turn right onto Lynn Valley Road. Continue along Lynn Valley Road and go past Lynn Valley Mall. At Peters Road, you will see a sign for Lynn Canyon Park. Turn right at Peters Road. Continue along Peters Road and into the park. Turn left into the park and you will see a parking lot.

Pay Parking

Pay parking is in effect seasonally from March 1 to October 31 from 8 am to 6 pm. Parking is $3 per hour, for a maximum of 4 hours. Payment options include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Visa Debit, Mastercard debit, Apple pay, Google pay and any Interac supported card at the pay stations, scan to pay, or the IndigoNeo app or website.

District residents are eligible to purchase a seasonal DNV Park Parking Pass ($10.00+GST) that allows passholders to park in the lot without paying the hourly rate.

Vehicles parked in a designated disability space and display a valid disability decal are exempt from payment at the lot. These spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Posted parking time limits apply. See more details about pay parking here.

There is free parking in the east Lynn Canyon parking lot, located off the northern end of Lillooet Road near the Lower Seymour Conservation Area.

Park Use Permits

Park Use Permits are required for all groups running programs or events in District of North Vancouver Parks. Please visit the North Vancouver Recreation Commission (NVRC) website and fill out the Park Use Permit application. Apply at least 2 weeks in advance of your visit. If you book a program with the Ecology Centre, you do not need to apply for a Park Use Permit.

Bus Parking Regulations

All buses entering the main parking lot at Lynn Canyon Park are required to purchase a Group Bus Permit (GBP) before they enter the Park. Buses without a GBP found within the Park or stopped in the neighbouring streets before the main parking lot are subject to fines of $500 or more per infraction in accordance with the Street and Traffic Bylaw, No. 7125 and the Park Regulation Bylaw, No. 8310.

Due to capacity limitations within the Park, the number of GBPs issued per day is limited to a maximum of 3 buses per 4-hour block of time (am or pm slots available). GBPs must be approved and paid for in advance, subject to availability.

If you book a program with the Ecology Centre, you will receive a complimentary GBP and do not need to fill out the form.

If you are a school located in North Vancouver, the GBP Fee will be waived, but you must still submit the application form.

2026 Fees for 4-hour blocks:

  • $170.00 (+5% GST) for buses with 24 seats or less
  • $350.00 (+5% GST) for buses with 25 or seats or more.
